Bomb Scare Over 2 Unattended Bags In Delhi, Police Say Nothing Suspicious

Two suspicious bags were discovered in Trilokpuri, east Delhi, this afternoon, prompting a bomb panic in the neighbourhood, according to police. However, only a charger, a laptop, and a water bottle were discovered inside the two bags, putting any fears to rest right away.

"A laptop, tiffin, charger, water bottle, and some food items were recovered inside the bag," said Deputy Commissioner of Police East Priyanka Kashyap. The person who unintentionally left their bag has been identified. Nothing appears to be suspicious."

Officials from the Delhi Police received a call about the two suitcases and raced to the scene.

According to the authorities, the area was blocked off and an inquiry was launched.

The bomb scare came only days after an IED, or unsophisticated bomb, was discovered inside a bag placed at a flower market in Ghazipur, east Delhi, on January 14. The cops had dug an eight-foot pit near the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border at the time to carry out a controlled bomb at the market.

More information on today's incident is awaited.
